The last time that we here at Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Twin Falls had some news to share with you regarding the 2013 RAM 1500, our friends at Automobile Magazine were hailing it as one of their All-Stars of the Year. Given how fond of it we were to begin with, we can't say the humbling honor was all that surprising. And knowing the award-winning qualities of our new and used car lineup, we figured it was only a matter of time before the someone else jumped on the bandwagon.
Turns out, that someone else was none other than the gang at Consumer Reports.
Now, with so many trucks of all shapes and sizes inundating the market these days, deciding which one is the best fit for the biggest job can be a tough decision to come to. After all, it's not like you can just go out on a test drive and start hauling lumber from place to place. But lucky for all of us, Consumer Reports took care of the legwork and recently got to finding out which big truck is the best one out there.
Each full-size pickup that fit the bill was put through a veritable gauntlet of crash and performance tests in an effort to separate the sheep from the goats. When all was said and done, it was the 2013 RAM 1500 that stood tall above the rest.
As for why Consumer Reports was so fond of it, they cited the smoothness of its ride, a quiet, roomy cabin and a powertrain that was up for every challenge it encountered. As for where it goes from here, all signs point to up.
