This past weekend, the Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA) hosted its 22nd annual Mudfest, a competition that puts to the test the capabilities of the industry's latest SUVs, crossovers, and pickup trucks. For two days, journalists evaluated 28 models in a variety of road and weather conditions before picking winners in six categories.
FCA US LLC models were particularly successful, winning in each entered category. The 2016 Jeep Wrangler 75th Anniversary Edition and the Ram Rebel drove away with wins in the Extreme Capability and Pickups category, respectively. The 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee 75th anniversary won not only in the Family Utility class, but it also earned the overall title of "Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year."
"For 2016 we made both our on- and off-road courses more challenging,” said Ryan Douthit, event chair and producer of Driving Sports TV. “The Ram Rebel, Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee impressed our members with their ability to not only traverse any obstacle, but to do so with a unique sense of style and comfort. That’s why our members not only picked these three as best in their classes, but also selected the Jeep Grand Cherokee 75th Anniversary Edition as our Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year.”
