Why It's Important to Check Your Tire Pressure in Cold Winter Weather
Did you know that your tire pressure can decrease significantly in cold winter weather? It's a little-known fact, but an important one for Idaho drivers to be aware of. Tire pressure drops about 1 PSI (pound per square inch) for every 10°F drop in temperature. So if you last checked your tire pressure back in the fall when it was 70°F outside, and now it's 20°F on a chilly winter morning in Idaho Falls, your tires could be severely underinflated.
